Book Launch: Feathered Forest: Aloft with Birds in Ancient trees

Stay posted for more details for the drum roll event when my hardback book will be on the shelves. I’m a big fan of Dudley’s Bookshop & Cafe. Many thanks to owners Amy and Tom for hosting my launch of the book here in my home community of Bend.

Note that September 8th corresponds with the southward migration of Vaux’s Swifts and the sunset counts to track the number of swifts roosting each night in the brick chimney at the Boys and Girl’s Club (near the downtown library). I feature the intrepid and dedicated swift counters Mary Ann Kruse and Bob Johnson in my chapter on the Vaux’s Swift. I’ll be inviting folks after the book event to head over to the nightly count. If lucky we might witness more than a thousand tiny twittering birds circling overhead and then whirling around the chimney before fluttering down feet first.
