Oregon Wild Wednesday webinar
From the Crabtree Valley to the Imnaha River wilds, Marina Richie’s new book–Feathered Forest: Aloft with Birds in Ancient Trees–features several of Oregon’s threatened forests through the lens of the birds that depend upon them. To give viewers a sense of what it means to go aloft, she will share photos and drama from her climb of a 200-foot-tall Douglas fir with bird biologist Nina Ferrari in the HJ Andrews Experimental Forest. She will highlight environmentalists defending the wilds, including Oregon Wild’s Chandra LeGue and Francis Eatherington (Cascadia Wildlands). Through photos, audio, video, and storytelling, Marina’s presentation is intended to convey the sensory beauty, biodiversity, complexity, and climate refugia of wild forests through the most radiant of messengers–birds.
