Low Tide Revelation
Egrets like moon slivers
Shine in the morning light
Stalk the edge of eelgrass
And the still blue bay
Low tide dawn
The moon reveals
What we cannot see
At high tide
Tidepools like tears
Stream across this reef
of seaweed, anemone, barnacle
of shorebird, crab, and sculpin
Scent of salt, fish, and muck
Sound of crackle, sigh, and ocean rush
Slick, soft greens and browns
Breathing and exhaling as one
Low tide dawn
The moon reveals
What we yearn to know
At high tide
